Day One: Seoul

After an 8 hour flight, we stopped over in Changi Airport, Singapore for about an hour or so to wait for our connecting flight to Seoul. It was so hot - 29 degrees!

On that flight, I had my first Bloody Mary. It was DISGUSTING. The hostess put way to much vodka in it and the Tabasco and tomato juice balance was off. Not having another one any time soon.

I had pan fried fish fillet served with creamy white wine sauce, buttered vegetables and steamed potato - yum! I also ordered me some red wine so I could get some sleep on the plane, and the hostess gave me a strange look and asked me if I was over 18. I flashed her a look of disgust and she quickly filled my small glass with some wine, it was actually quite nice, though it didn't help much with the sleeping.

For the second
I watched a bunch of movies on the plane, sad to say that Scott Pilgrim vs The World was not on that list. There wasn't really the greatest selection of in flight entertainment but I ended up watching:

  • The Greatest (Starring Aaron Johnson and Carey Mulligan)
  • (10 minutes of) The Backup Plan (it was pretty terrible to say the least)
  • New York, I Love You
  • A couple of episodes of The Good Wife
  • A couple of episodes of Dr Who (season 5)
Didn't get much sleep at all, or even a chance to read my Harry Potter book.

We finally stopped over in Changi,  I had to run around the airport to find an information desk to get a password for the internet, it was so frustrating! Finally got the internet up and running, and managed to Skype with Monira just minutes before I boarded the connecting flight to Seoul. Good times!

This is what I had on the Singapore to Seoul flight. It tasted as bad as it looks.
We finally arrived in Seoul, got our baggage, checked through customs and immigration, and caught a bus to our hotel. A sleezy middle aged man tried to book a taxi for us, but we said no and ran off to find the bus that we needed. He even tried to grab my suitcase from me and drag it for me! Jerk.

The bus ride took about 80 minutes or so and it stopped right in front of the hotel, and it only costed us 10 bucks! So cheap!

Seoul is such a beautiful city! There is so much to do here, we walked around for about 4 hours as we couldn't check in until about 2pm, so that sucked. We didn't really buy anything because we wanted to have a look around to get a general idea of prices. EVERYTHING HERE IS SO CHEAP AND THERE IS SO MUCH THAT I WANT TO BUY! I have no idea how I am going to fit everything into my suitcase, I might have to wear about 10 shirts on the plane to Vancouver. I really do think it may resort to this.

Lunch cost me about 6 bucks or so, sooo good. I had a really big food baby afterwards. It was pretty painful. I will upload pictures later.

I'm too tired right now to blog, so I will continue this tomorrow morning.

Arcade Fire - Ready To Start

There are 7 more days to go and I have almost finished planning. Phew.

Things I can now cross off my to do list:

  • Credit cards
  • Travel Insurance
  • Centrelink
Now the only thing left on my to do list (aside from the Business Strategy Competition and packing) are really 'people to see'. I saw Brian and Mezz at UNSW yesterday, that was lots of fun. Mezz is awesome as always, we had lunch, and he drove me back to MQ which was very kind of him. I am going to miss everyone so much!

I have a dentist appointment at 12.30, meeting up with Dhurka at 2, and Theresa is staying over tonight, so lots of cleaning needs to be done.

Dinner with Esther and Yvonne tomorrow night, and dinner with Andrew on Monday night.

Time is running out and I am freaking out.

Taken somewhere in Alexandria.

Until next time folks.

Hong Kong Filmmakers Plan First 3D Sex Blockbuster

Filmmakers in Hong Kong have announced plans to make the world's first IMAX 3D porn film.
3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy is expected to hit cinemas in May - but it won't be the first 3D sex film - Italian director Tinto Brass has already announced plans to produce a 3D remake of his 1979 erotic film Caligula.
And bosses at Hustler have announced plans to make a pornographic spoof of 3D science fiction blockbuster Avatar.

And So It Begins!

I finished my last shift at work last Friday. This sounds incredibly sad, but I already miss the place. It was my first job, and I stuck it out for almost 3 years! It was possibly the best job that I had ever had, and I am so lucky to have had the privilege of working with such amazing and inspiring people. Also, the going away gift they presented me with wasn't too bad either. I am not telling you what I got.

I have 10 days until I leave Sydney! I am so excited and nervous and stressed all at the same time! There are still so many things I still need to sort out, I hope I get it all done in time.

Things I still need to get sorted:
  • Centrelink
  • Credit cards
  • Travel insurance
  • START PACKING
I haven't blogged in so long, so I apologise to anyone reading this who is in any way disgusted, or even offended, at how boring this first entry has been. I promise I will do better, once this 10 day count down is up, but until then, you will need to put up with my boring rants leading up until then.

I will, however, let you know what you are in for! I have decided to embark on a little project on my own while I am on exchange. I am going to take a photo of every dish/meal/item of food that I eat to see whether or not I am getting enough of each food group (fruit, vegetables, breads, rice and cereals, dairy and meats) in my diet. Seeing as I have never lived more than a couple of days on my own, this will be very interesting (for me, anyway).

I will also, of course, post up pictures of every place I happen to visit. Hopefully some of the pictures prove interesting enough for you to continue reading/viewing this blog!

Until next time folks.
